Although it doesn't seem possible, we have just begun our 5th year as owners of The Philipsburg Cafe! After spending too much time fighting the East Coast Rat Race, my wife Meredith and I relocated to Philipsburg, MT from Boston, MA, in the Summer of 2006, to chase our dream (and eventually some deer and elk) and open The Philipsburg Cafe.
In order to own and operate our own eating establishment, a little education was necessary. So, after graduating high school, I attended Johnson & Wales University, located in Providence, Rhode Island, where I earned both Culinary and Pastry degrees. Since my J&W days, I have been in the restaurant business for more than 15 years, working at an array of Boston-area restaurants, including The Franklin Cafe and Siros, as well as numerous New England Country Clubs. I also owned my own catering company.
Owning our own restaurant has been a long-time dream of ours, and we are thrilled to finally see it realized. We are thoroughly enjoying all the amenities this area has to offer (fly-fishing and downhill skiing, to name just a few) and most of all, we finally have the chance to stop and smell the bread baking! We weren't born in Montana, but we got here as soon as we could! We look forward to seeing you!
